Perched high above the Mediterranean, the hotel frames the sea through clean, contemporary lines. Days begin slowly here — sunlight moving across pale stone, the scent of citrus drifting up from the terraces below, and the quiet luxury of having nothing you must do. Local designer Marco de Luca knows how to make a statement and is the man behind the hotel’s ground-breaking, white-washed design. White-on-white dazzles and minimalist aesthetics reign supreme in practically all the lounge spaces. Here, the romance of the Amalfi Coast takes center stage. The walls are open canvases. Think fluttering curtains among pristine seascapes, white sofas and armchairs sat among a private collection of quirky and edgy art pieces, plus sculptures by Cuban artist Alfredo Sosabravo and oil paintings by Argentinian Patricia Valencia Carstsens, among other excellent artists from across the globe. It’s stylish, but in the most laid-back and luxurious way possible.

All this continues its way down the Grecian-style interloper to the lemon-flecked pool that spies out dazzling views of the coastline. It’s from here where southern Italy unfolds. Seductive and beautiful, vast cloud-capped mountains plunge into the sparkling sea in heartstring-pulling panoramas flecked by sheer-drop crags, colorful houses, and verdant woodlands. Neighboring Positano is picture-postcard perfect in the distance, and on a clear day, you’ll even get to see the famous Faraglioni rocks that whirl off the coast of jet set center Capri. The best part? You can see it all in near total privacy from the hotel’s pretty pool deck.
